Rocket parts that flew on
86 space shuttle missions are set to fly again with the first astronauts to lift off to the moon since the Apollo program. The Space Launch System (SLS) and Orion spacecraft launching the Artemis II crew were built using components from the orbiters and their launch stack, with pieces dating as far back as the fifth flight of the shuttle program. With the parts now expendable, Artemis II will be their last flight.
